Intellectual Man...err!
Scientists at MIT's Media Lab in the United States have invented an alarm clock called Clocky to make even the doziest sleepers, who repeatedly hit the snooze button, leap out of bed.
After the snooze button is pressed, the clock, which is equipped with a set of wheels, rolls off the table to another part of the room.
When the alarm sounds again, simply finding Clocky ought to be strenuous enough to prevent even the doziest owner from going back to sleep," New Scientist magazine said.
I happen to mention about this piece to few of my friends in one of the recent parties and for some reason no one seemed to be thrilled about it. Infact, they seem to come up with contingency plans to deal with it, if they ever come across with that situation in future.
Our conversation went something like this.
Me: Hey.. I have read this news...blah..blah..blah.
Friend1: * thinks a bit* ...hmm!!!..... I would have a rope tied to it and the other end to my hand, so that its always in my reach.
Friend2: *seems little agitated* Rip off the wheels..I say.!!!
Friend3: *with a beaming smile* .. I would never buy one!!
Friend4: *little irritated* Don't MIT have better things to do rather than wasting funds. That's why I always advise not going to these weird schools.
Alrite! The Progressive,Intellectual Men have spoken. Intellectual Man..hmm!!..What an oxymoron!!(no offense to oxymoron, the writer).

clocky running away is jus as good, anyways da whole household has 2 wake up 2 wake me up. so mayb we can set clocky such that she runs all around da house waking up every one in every room, mayb even making rocky (my dog) follow him (clocky)n final destination being my room...
U think MIT takes requests for changes in programme n design?? -

What if we set the volume on the alarm clock to something low? The first time it rang we'd hear it, then it would hop off the table and go off and lurk in some corner and we can ignore it and go back to sleep na? -

All you need is a good firing from your boss when you are late one day and you won't need any fancy clocks henceforth :-) -
#by Nimbus, at April 01, 2005 12:55 PM
Parth - but what if your boss oversleeps more than you do? Then what? ;) -

(neelima) Please let me know where you throw these kind of stuff. I guess I can start a good business selling the same thing again and again.
(elixir) I am quite sure your household have the same plans for you too.
(Megha)
Wah wah. That was smart indeed. Our progressive men couldn't think of it. Did I say progressive ..I meant retrograde.
(j-bird) Now this is a issue in my hands and what an nice issue to have rather than none. I have 2 j' commenting. Going by their profiles they j-bird and j-man.
(j-man)4 alarms..hmm....actauuly the new ones will work fine for you. They keep hopping around the 4 corners and have to come close to you in one fo their hops where you can turn them off and you dont even have to move.
(parth) Please read Megha's comment addressing yours. She has a valid point I think.
(Megha) How wish you to be on our gatherings. We could get shot in the arm in our IQ averages. -

these MIT guys really seem to be wasting their time
just yesterday my friend was trying to wake me up (Hail, the human indomitable spirit!) and mentioned something about Clocky and i said that i'd watch out for it. And of course, after setting the alarm, you could take out the batteries:)
Like Jageera said in China Gate, "Humse ladne ki himmat to jutaa le-oge thaakur, par oo kameenapan kahaan se laaoge?"
And oxy-moron the writer??!!:O
Do you want the spirits of all the writers to strike you with all their wrath? Thanks for visiting and all that high praise, I must confess that I almost believed you for a moment;) -

(Oxymoron) Glad to see you write..... The whole strategy was to make you write ...even though they are just comments.
And the taking out batteries thingy, no technology can make us better...hum tho bhai jaise hai..wasie rahengee:)
(Mistress of Magic) I guess it wont be a problem for M.of Magic, you can make it run away so far you cant even hear it.
Thanks for dropping by.
(J-bird with a problem) Is this any better?
(Anonymous & Neelima)..you keep writing comments twice , it will definetly happen. -
