My theory is, most men are under a misconception that their respective womenfolk look up to them for better part of their lives because of their maturity, smartness and having a balanced head. On the contrary, the only reason women seem to "look up" to men is because of their comparitive shortness in stature.

*burns the lips trying to take the first sip of hot coffee..hmmm..So much for smartness*.

And for the same reason, do men "Look down" on women ??? Imagine the state of a vertically challenged guy like me... I have to look up to everyone... and everyone looks down on me :o(((((

And thanks for your feedback... It really feels good to have ppl say nice things !!!!

  • #by Blogger Rat, at May 23, 2005 5:02 AM

  • #by Blogger J, at May 23, 2005 7:48 AM

    Hmm… that’s a very good post. And I’ll tell u y…
To start with… men have misconceptions only IF they think. So according to me, they r doing just fine. Maturity, smartness and balanced head? Ahem… I don’t wanna say stuff that goes OTT :-p
But more importantly, where are all the single smart men? In case u didn’t decode that, it means are you single? ;)

    P.S.: I’m 5’7”

    >>Imagine the state of a vertically challenged guy like me... I have to look up to everyone.."

Look at this way....you will never be blamed for having misconcpetions.:)One sure way to women's heart..what say!!

    (Rat)
    Quite an interesting name:).
You know what...you can always create a image of looking upto someone and get your own way. As you said you can never be blamed...you can always say "hey I was just following you"

    (j)
    >>To start with… men have misconceptions only IF they think."

ahaa..."they think"....that's one part men are not adept yet. There are 2 things, I heard soemwhere

Men think, but not the right stuff.
    Women just don't think
and hence the world is the way it is.

    (Debalina)
    >>Truth hurts...er..burns ?
It burns first and then hurts.:)

    Thanks for dropping by.

  • #by Blogger Woodooz, at May 23, 2005 12:52 PM

But what about the possible misconception that they could have ? That am looking up to them coz of their maturity, smartness and having a balanced head... hmmm !!! Instead of going straight into the heart, wud that not get into their head... lol !!!!

If being short is a shortcoming, thinking big can make up for it...

    What say ?

  • #by Blogger gvenum, at May 23, 2005 1:09 PM

    >> But what about the possible misconception that they could have ?

If you have read my inane theory carefully, the theory is unique for men not vice versa. Women, IMO, have no misconceptions on this, they just believe all men are idiots whether tall or short. They already know what they are getting into, they got no choice.....They are just waiting for public availabiltiy of human cloning, especially men:)

(j)>> where are all the single smart men? In case u didn’t decode that, it means are you single? ;)

I am delighted to know that the only thing you are not sure is my single status not my smartness. Single:) aint that so obvious form my blog.:)

(gratisgab) >>Please!People-who-work-with-gvenum, keep his coffee pot full.

I am trying to see if I can anyway intepret ur comments as compliments. If I can't I will just assume:)

  • #by Blogger anantha, at May 23, 2005 7:11 PM

Hmmm... Fair idea. And I thought that gals need not look up to guys these days, what with the 6 inches of solid plastic/leather/wood that seems to extend out of the soles of their shoes/slippers and which they term "heels"!

Lucky you dude. You seem to get single ladies here who ask you if u are single yourself. And all I get on mine is the much-married-ladies who tell me that my picture posts are funnier than my writing :P

    Baaaahhh.....

  • #by Blogger gvenum, at May 23, 2005 9:10 PM

(anTi) I hate heels period. I mean women's.:)
    >>Lucky you dude. You .... than my writing :P ....Baaaahhh.....

Get the hint dude...they want to check out "your" pictures. Now all these married women might have sisters/cousins..you get the drift:)

    >>You seem to get single ladies here who ask you if u are singleyourself.

I won't read too much into it. They want smart single men:)

  • #by Anonymous Anonymous, at May 23, 2005 9:15 PM

    *glggles girlishly* *says Awww*
then wonders if I say I'm 5'9" and I do look down at a lot of women, will I be called dude again?

Anti, point noted! No more comments from me at least, rest assured...unless you put up more gay pictures..all this cricket talk is not changing my mind about you.

  • #by Blogger gvenum, at May 23, 2005 9:37 PM

(alpha) Looks like I will get no respite for my messup:). My theory works only for men:)

Anti..you need new strategy man. But atleast you have her attention.

  • #by Blogger J, at May 24, 2005 2:58 AM

Hmm... where have all the 'thinking men' gone then??? Everyone i meet asks me to handle the thinking part.

    Anti... here i come! ;)

  • #by Blogger Woodooz, at May 24, 2005 3:55 AM

J... Is it because u havent been thinking earlier, that ppl believe you could be a storehouse of thoughts now ? ;o))))

  • #by Anonymous Anonymous, at May 24, 2005 6:27 AM

I am short, period, and not only do the guys hate the 4inch monstrosities I wear in my feet, but my much taller women (err...girls) friends too stay away from me for that reasons :)

Its not a misconception , its an logical assumption.

Alpha: Awwww Alpha, I was not talking about you. It's not you who's the anonymous blooger who keeps griping about the lack of pics on my not so anonymous blog! Thats a different one. You are my most famous commentor! Btw, i am hurt that u called it a gay picture :(
Gvenum: I don't read too much into their comments either. I saw this pic the other day, a cartoon about a rabbit which has a couple of rockets tied around its neck in either end of the same rope and titled - innovative way of ending one's life! The warped mind that is mine thought it was funny!
Now I am thinking that one of these ladies is looking for a nice pic of mine to "photoshop" into something like that!

  • #by Blogger anantha, at May 24, 2005 11:51 AM

    J: I had to give u a separate comment!
Welcome to my blog. I think Auguste Rodin had me in mind when he sculpted his "Thinking Man"!

  • #by Blogger Akruti, at May 24, 2005 12:28 PM

Anon?? how did that happen? i never did that, now u r smart enough to conspire against me and took away my name.i HURTED,me walking off now,sob,sob...how many times do u make me cry?? mummmmmyyyyyyyy

  • #by Anonymous Anonymous, at May 24, 2005 1:58 PM

Anti: awww... fine fine..I'm sold. who are these anon aunties? let me tackle them! Tell me when the cricket innings are over.

j: Anti is just 5'5", stick with gvenum.

gvenum: send me all the profits you get from the books as my fee for setting you up like this shamelessly since you can't take opportunities as and when they present itself.

  • #by Blogger anantha, at May 24, 2005 2:06 PM

Alpha: Wonder where you got that "estimate" of my height! And one more thing, "Anonymous Aunty? Where did I say that? Looks like you are out to land me in hot water with all my female readers! And are you trying to set me and gvenum up for a round of boxing or extreme wrestling or whatever? Remember, I abhorr violence of any sort. I'd rather play scrabble!

    Gvenum: Peace!

    J: Hey, How ya doing?

  • #by Anonymous Anonymous, at May 24, 2005 2:38 PM

anti: height. Using vernier calipers, I measured your height with respect to the tulips..did a small calculation regarding depth perception, ran outside and measured some tulips and hence the conclusion. Actually I feel you were wearing heels...but never mind that now.

We must give gvenum a fair chance here..this being his blog..this being his female reader..and this being gvenum who finds it hard to differenciate females from males. give him some handicap, will ya.

    g h g u d r e

make 8 words with that. this should keep you busy till i return.

  • #by Blogger anantha, at May 24, 2005 4:24 PM

gvenum: All these snide remarks are gonna come at you regularly, now that you have made the cardinal sin of misrepresenting Alpha

  • #by Anonymous Anonymous, at May 24, 2005 4:58 PM

Anti: SNIDE? How dare you, esp after I got you in a hot water tub with all your female readers..and I get this?!

oh well, wondering if you get paid to leave comments...if you do, please pass on my resume too.

  • #by Blogger gvenum, at May 24, 2005 7:15 PM

Whoever is paying or gettting paid...it has to go through me. After all its my blog.:)

  • #by Blogger Primalsoup, at May 24, 2005 11:39 PM

That women look up to men given their 'short' stature is a misconception!
Women do that because men expect them to do that and it sort of lulls them into the false security that they are indeed the superior gender. Looking up at men complete with bambi eyes works like a charm!
    There, I said it! :)

  • #by Blogger J, at May 24, 2005 11:54 PM

I see my name everywhere… Gvenum, u gotcha pay me a royalty now :)

  • #by Blogger Woodooz, at May 25, 2005 2:12 AM

J... Yeah been thinking a lot... esp after the last few comments on my page. :o)

  • #by Blogger gvenum, at May 25, 2005 11:22 AM

    (Primalsoup)
ahaa!! Soupy is back. When I said look up, I meant literally since most them are relatively short and has to look up to see the man's eye. As I said earlier to somu's comment

"Women, IMO, have no misconceptions on this, they just believe all men are idiots whether tall or short. They already know what they are getting into, they got no choice." I guess men knew this already, but as you said the "charm" blindfolds the tan-man and everything else.(if they have any)

    (j)
    >>I see my name everywhere… Gvenum, u gotcha pay me a royalty now :)

Let me get my share first.

(Anti) You got what you wished for.

A zillion apologies to the most wonderful lady! Pi must have done a gazillion good deeds in pichle janam to get the status of being ur other half!

  • #by Blogger Ratna, at June 09, 2005 11:18 AM

I did read somewhere that tall men make more salary than others (sorry for not supporting it with reference) I don,t know the correlation between height and the brain size ;)

  • #by Blogger gvenum, at June 09, 2005 1:47 PM

(Ratna) I bet the salary was offered by a lady above him who is shorter than him.:)
Men, brain size....hmm....what ever height they are they all have the same size that of a peanut.

  • #by Blogger ss, at June 12, 2005 4:14 AM

Righto! I am short too and love to wear heels :))) lol so that I can ease out my neck a bit thats tired of looking upto everyone.

And of maturity smartness and balanced head, is not true in every case. Men too falter and all women are not as smart either. So it's just about individuals! But thats a fantastic post!

  • #by Blogger gvenum, at June 15, 2005 12:00 PM

    (sonal)
    >>Men too falter

Whatch you saying? ...Men always falter, especially around women, else
they would never be able to experience the magic of "marriagehood":)
